In an historic first at kurttrue.com, I met my internet friend Pam in San Jose!
This might sound kind of inconceivable to you young kurttrue.com fans out there, but this was the first time in my life I ever met an internet friend in person.
Well, we really hit it off, and it turns out Pam shares my passions for Mexican food, graveyards and old style Roman Catholicism, so we boogied down to San Juan Bautista, toured the Mission, ate at the place that used to be the Nicaraguan restaurant with all the elephants in it but now it's a Mexican restaurant and went to the graveyard down the road.
And there were kitty cats and chickens wandering around on the Mission grounds. And some guy has an apple tree growing over his grave, so we got to eat some nice fresh apples.
Plus we went into the actual church part of the Mission and lit a candle for my Mom, the late Susan True, who also loved Mexican food, graveyards, cats and San Juan Bautista.
Then we stopped at Garlic World, and I made Pam try garlic ice cream. What? Don't make that face. It's good. Huh Pam?
