gaining elvitude

looking back, it's hard to pinpoint exactly when in my life i achieved elvitude.

when i was about ten, i taught myself how to play "burnin' love" my friend's toy bongo drums.

by the time i got to junior high, i could reënact the entire dance sequence from "viva las vegas!", including anne margaret's part! and keep in mind, this was in the days before vcr's. i had to learn it from the late show on channel 44.
