I've always had this fascination with run down tourist attractions.
One thing I love about Reno is they don't try to hide the blight. Those old Motels from ages past remain in place dwarfed and darkened by the behemoth Vegas-style mega resorts.
I get the impression that some of them are being used for low-income housing now.
Which kind of makes me wonder what does the future hold for the mega resorts? Will you walk into Circus Circus one day, and it'll be one big Section 8 housing project filled with socially marginal people who can't afford decent clothing or proper nutrition and their squalling sticky-fingered spawn?
And how will you know the difference?
