It bugs me that people forget what Memorial Day is for.
Memorial Day is not for getting 30 percent off a new lawnmower. It's not for shaking your groove thing at some street fair. It's not National Barbeque Day.
I mean, if you want to have a barbeque, that's fine. I might grill a few tofu burgers myself.
But just remember what Memorial Day is for. It's the time we honor the sacrifices of those who served their country.
So go out to the cemeteries and fly the Red White and Blue. Tony and I picked up some flags at the Party Store and visited our departed relatives at Olivet Memorial Park, Golden Gate National Cemetery and Holy Sepulchre yesterday.
Because my family traditionally buries up to five people in one plot, I really save money on flags. I'm sure Grandma Rita and Uncle Ray don't mind sharing.
