The peak we seek

So like I said, we took the kids on a little educational field trip to Mission Delores on Saturday, and we got out of there about 4:30 in the afternoon, and it was a beautiful sunny day, and we all thought as long as we're in San Francisco, we might as well do something fun.

We briefly considered the Metreon, and Ripley's Believe it or Not, and then I said, "Hey, it's such a clear day. It's the perfect day to go to Twin Peaks. I bet you can see all over."

Kevin said to me, "Dude, let's do it. Can you navigate us there?"

I said, "Not really, Dude. I've only been there once in my life. Just get on Market, and drive towards Sutro Tower. We'll find it. Don't worry. I got a Virgin of Guadalupe prayer card in my shirt pocket."

Which I did. I'd just bought it at the Mission gift shop.

So long story short, the BVM led us to a great parking space right at the trailhead in some rich people neighborhood halfway up Twin Peaks, and we all hiked up to the top, me, Kevin, Nancy, the young 'uns, and Shiloh, and the view was spectacular!

Then the fog came rolling in off the Pacific, and that was pretty exciting. The kids were jumping all around and doing all their Star Wars moves in the fog.

Then we didn't want the boys falling asleep before dinner, so the grownups sang '70s songs on the drive home. I would caution parents to use this method sparingly. You don't want it to backfire on you, and the kids are singing "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" and "Copacabana" over and over again in the RV on the way to the Grand Canyon.
