Today the kurttrue.com 2006 retrospective takes a moment to look back at the big kurttrue.com road trip to Yosemite.
We drove out there for three days in September. I'm tellinya, that is the time to go.
There were no crowds. None. It was practically empty everywhere we went, the valley, the Mariposa Grove, Glacier Point.
Which was a good thing for Jeffrey because he was able to get some real clear shots of Half Dome.
Yup. Just shot after shot after shot of Half Dome.
Jeffrey had never been to Yosemite before and as soon as we came through that first tunnel on Highway 120, and I pointed out Half Dome to him, he just… I don't know how to describe it. He was like Richard Dreyfus in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
Seriously. We went to that restaurant at Yosemite Lodge, and he started making a little Half Dome out of his mashed potatoes. It was spooky.
