Thank you, America, for wrecking my birthday again. I am going to have a lot of fun going out with my friends in San Francisco, whose entire population will no doubt still be reeling from the shock of seeing the reigns of government handed over for another four years to an unholy alliance of religious lunatics and slash-and-burn corporate profiteers.

That is just great. It'll be like 1984 again except without all the hair gel and "Flashdance"-inspired casual wear.

On the bright side, the novel that I'm writing about an apocalyptic cult that goes around kidnapping and incarcerating unbelievers is not going to seem so dated. Or far-fetched.

So, yeah, I better get that thing finished within the next four years. Something tells me it would just not go over during, say, a Barach Obama administration.
