Name that grass, part 2

Peter Veillieux of East Bay Wilds and landscape architect Paul Furman (www.edgehill.net) inform me that last week's mysterious annual grass was the dreaded foxtail brome (Bromus diandrus), so I ripped it all out.

Today, I'm going to mulch like crazy because the yard is starting to look all parched and weedy. This dry, windy Spring has not been kind to the plants, especially the annuals. I might even have to invest in a garden gnome or two to camouflage some of the really blighted areas.

Or maybe it's time to pull out the big guns and go for Snow White and the seven dwarves.
